Communicating effectively in a global market is increasingly critical. Translators and interpreters can play a powerful role in communication, enabling businesses to build bridges to foreign partners and tap into new markets here at home. But it isn't always easy to figure out how best to use language services—how to find the right language professionals, how to work effectively with them, and how to get the most for your translation and interpretation dollar. Tianlu Jia Redmon is President of Tianlu Chinese Language and Culture, a boutique language and cultural services firm. She is a Chinese interpreter, translator, and teacher. Her working areas include business, law, and health care. She is also a Certified Court Interpreter and frequently interprets at the D.C. Superior Court and Virginia District Courts. Currently Tianlu is a Leadership Council Member of the Interpreters Division, American Translators Association (ATA) and ATA’s Chinese Language Division.
Tianlu was born and raised in Mainland China. She is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. She holds an M.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, and a B.A. in English from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, China.
