Interpretation

We provide high-quality interpretation services for law firms and court reporting agencies, including trials, depositions, arbitration hearings, witness preparation sessions, and attorney–client interviews. With deep experience and a commitment to precision, we ensure clear, reliable communication in every legal setting.

We have often been hired as the official interpreters for trials in high-stakes cases. The parties trust that we will accurately and impartially interpret the testimony. Our professionalism and minimal accent also lend credibility to the witnesses.

Translation

Our boutique firm offers meticulous, dependable translation services by certified linguists who share our values. We handle exhibits, discovery documents, transcription paired with translation, and attorney–client correspondence with the highest level of care. We are also happy to review documents with you or provide an "information-only" translation so that you can understand their key points before deciding what to send us for a "court-ready" copy.

Backed by extensive legal experience and a commitment to accuracy and responsiveness, we deliver polished, consistent translations that meet the demands of today’s legal practice.

Expert Review

We often serve as check interpreters in depositions, where the defending attorney engages us to ensure that questions posed to and responses provided by their client are accurately and fairly interpreted. This works especially well when we have attended or assisted with witness preparation. Read more.

We also provide translations and opinion letters to address and counter any translations submitted by the opposing party. Our team members have testified as linguistic experts to our translations.

In addition, we have repeatedly been hired to review court and deposition recordings and transcripts, especially when the accuracy of the original interpreter's work is in dispute. With Tianlu’s credentials as a grader of translation and interpretation exams and her background as a language instructor, she is uniquely qualified to serve as a designated expert in these matters.

What is a check interpreter?

In high-stakes cases, it is common practice for the deposing attorney to hire a primary interpreter, while the defending attorney hires a check interpreter. Ideally, both interpreters aim to ensure the integrity of the record. Alternatively, the parties may decide to engage a team of official/non-party interpreters and split the expenses.

Do I need a Certificate of Translation (CoT)?

It depends on the document's purpose. When in doubt, ask the end user of the translation. Typically, anything submitted to the court requires a CoT.
