About Tianlu
Tianlu Jia Redmon (贾天璐) is the President and Chief Linguist of Tianlu Chinese Language and Culture LLC. She is best at interpreting trials, depositions, and meetings when the stakes are high.
Working primarily with lawyers, Tianlu navigates complex linguistic and cultural challenges and finds creative solutions to meet demanding expectations. As a mother of two active boys, she has mastered the art of problem-solving. Passionate about language access, community building, and the future of the translation and interpreting professions, she is dedicated to advancing industry standards. She regularly speaks on legal translation and interpretation at local and national professional association events.
Tianlu is certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) in both English-into-Chinese and Chinese-into-English translation—one of a handful of Chinese linguists in the U.S. to hold both qualifications.
Tianlu is the Language Chair and a grader of the ATA Certification Exam for English-into-Chinese translation. She previously worked as a Mandarin interpretation evaluator for a global provider of telephonic interpretation services. She also has a background in language and cultural training. This experience gives her a unique advantage in translation quality control and expert review.
Tianlu has lived in many areas in the U.S. since the beginning of her career as a linguist in 2013. After finally settling down in Houston in 2018, she has become a highly sought-after linguist by law firms in Texas and beyond.

Why us?
Over the years, I’ve received many requests from large, multilingual agencies. Through experience, I’ve come to realize that when agencies juggle hundreds of languages and clients, they often assign jobs based on availability rather than expertise.
Case in point: I was once hired as the check interpreter for four days of back-to-back depositions in a complex civil litigation involving millions of dollars. The agency hired by the opposing counsel sent three different interpreters—none of whom had been briefed on the case. As a result, valuable time was wasted on the record correcting interpretations and clarifying testimony with the witness.
At Tianlu Chinese Language and Culture LLC, we work differently.
Our linguists operate as a collaborative team—we partner to interpret and translate, build client glossaries, prepare for technical topics, navigate ethical scenarios, and provide backup coverage when needed. This ensures continuity, quality, and consistency for every assignment.
